Hey Tanya!! It's Kim -- part of the Herbolsheimer clan...

I just really wanted to thank you for all that you've done for myself and my family.  You may not realize it, but what you do is such an awesome way to touch people forever.  We are truly blessed to count you as a friend!!  Your love for what you do shows in every class you teach.  I'm hoping a few of my friends from college will be able to come to the next class!

Much love to you,

Kim H.

I can't put into words what you have done for a woman like me.  But if I had to then I would say "THANK YOU" Tanya, for actually caring about your students!  For taking the time to do something your very good at and sharing it with others in a positive and most importantly PATIENT way.

Many men and women all over the world struggle with their weight, they're dissatisfied with their gym or personal trainers, they lack that person who is willing to extend the unconditional help they so desperately seek and you give us just that.

I won't say you've changed my life, instead you've bettered it. You truly are the north star in the middle of a dessert and I believe you should continue to use your gift to help people reach their "physical" destinations.. no matter where they may be!

Thank you for being a real person, a real instructor and a real inspiration!

Forever your follower

Hey Tanya!

I attended your Zumba class on Wednesday night (Oct 17th) with my mom and I just wanted to tell you that we enjoyed it sooooo much!  You are a great instructor.  It was better than I expected!

Tanya,

Just wanted to THANK you for a great workout!! You are a great inspiration...  I have needed to get up and get physical for a very long time.  YOU have inspired me to do just that.  For the past couple of years I have paid for my gym membership without stepping in there to work out...  I was just not motivated by the workouts they were offering me.

I love to dance...  ZUMBA is perfect for me!  I am excited about exercising again...  Thanks to you and ZUMBA!!

Your supporter and Zumba friend,

I met Tanya six months ago when I started taking a Zumba class that she was teaching. I was immediately drawn in by Tanya’s upbeat personality and her ability to make exercise exciting, interactive, and meaningful.

From the very first class, Tanya put me at ease with her fun, yet serious, approach to instruction. First of all, she made sure to know each of us by name! This was no small feat, considering that the class grew from six of us to about 30 of us on any given day! During the course of the workout, she made sure to move through the crowd offering encouragement to the participants. Her spirit is absolutely infectious! As a result, she has influenced several otherwise reticent participants to become Zumba certified!

I think Tanya would make an excellent Master Trainer. Her knowledge of the choreography, combined with her natural ability to connect with people, makes her the ideal candidate for the position of Master Trainer.

I met Tanya early January 2007. I was fortunate enough to be able to attend her Zumba classes. I found Tanya to be very energetic, extremely fun, enjoyable, very friendly and approachable. Tanya is a very charismatic person and all of her students love her and her classes. Her passion for teaching really shows through with every class.

I have been teaching group fitness (aerobics, step, kickboxing etc…) for 17 years. In that time I have also been an Instructor trainer teaching people to become instructors themselves. I wish that I could have had more instructors like Tanya. She is extremely talented and a real joy to work with.  She works well with participants as well as other instructors.

I recently took the Zumba certification class and got a chance to work with Tanya on a different level than just taking a class. Although she was not the presenter she was still very interactive with the group. She definitely showed the skills needed to present a Master class. It was great to have an instructor with the enthusiasm and knowledge that she possesses.  She proves that she truly has working knowledge of fitness on all levels be it group fitness or personal training.

Tanya is very inclusive in her classes. She is very good at making her presence known at any place in the class. The groups really enjoy when she does fun things with them during the class. It really energizes them. She knows a wide variety of moves and how to implement them to make her classes interesting, challenging, beneficial and safe.

Furthermore, I believe that Tanya would be a great addition to any training facility or perhaps as a Master Presenter. It has truly been an inspiration working with her and I am thankful for every minute I was able to train with her.

I have known Tanya for only a brief time but I felt compelled to write on her behalf.  The fact that in such a short time Tanya has made such an impact on me speaks volumes.  I first met Tanya about three months ago when I took a Zumba class from her.  The gym I currently teach at wants to offer Zumba so a few instructors, including myself, went to Tanya’s class to see what Zumba was all about.  This was my first Zumba class ever and my first interaction with Zumba in general.  When I met Tanya that night she was professional, friendly and most important to me - genuine.  She took the time before and after class to make everyone there feel like they could achieve their own fitness goals.  There were people from all different backgrounds and fitness levels and she made it work for all of us.

I am a spin instructor and group exercise teacher but have no dance background and was feeling pretty intimidated by Zumba.  Tanya reassured me and encouraged me.  I started going to her classes whenever I could, signed up for the Zumba instructor certification and have continued to practice.  I feel so much more confident.  I feel confident enough to lead my gym’s Zumba kickoff in a week!   Tanya has continued to make herself a resource to me and other new instructors (and students) in the Sacramento area.  She has inspired many people both before and after the certification.  You should have seen how many people were at the Sacramento certification because of her!

Tanya would be an asset to Zumba as a Zumba Master Trainer.  She is passionate about Zumba and sharing how it has changed her life. She is personable so you want to hear what she has to say.  Like I said before, Tanya is very genuine and when introducing something relatively new to many people that quality is so important.  Tanya is confident, caring, has great Zumba moves and lots of energy.

I would like to take this time to say a few words about Señorita Tanya and the impact she brought to my involvement as a Zumba Instructor.   My name is Joe González from Sacramento, California and I lead an Aerobics noontime class that is offered by the California Department of Health Services (my place of employment) Wellness Program.

I heard about Zumba from one of my students who read an article in our local newspaper (Sacramento Bee) about Tanya introducing Zumba at the studio where she worked. A few days later I contacted Tanya who invited me to attend one of her introductory classes.  Her class was one of the best workouts I have ever taken. She was impeccable!  She gave easy to follow instructions. After taking her class (by the way it was full to capacity; evidently a popular one) I immediately took to Zumba.   Her enthusiasm and her electrifying energy grabbed me, as if I too, was “Born to Zumba”!  Upon the drenching Zumba class Señorita Tanya informed me of a Zumba Certification (Hayward) coming up that November.  Her continuous push/encouragement for me (a complete stranger) to continue on with Zumba motivated me to get certified!

Señorita Tanya was also my mentor; who worked with me by inviting me on several occasions to the studio for practice workouts. We also did a Zumba Demonstration together for a health organization in Woodland, CA.  She gave me confidence and worked with me to perfect my moves and always encouraged me to go for it!!   Today I am a certified Zumba instructor because of Tanya.  Today I not only lead a noontime workout aerobics class, I now incorporate Zumba!  With Her Zumba experience, ability to interact (Always Sweet & Polite) with “ALL” types of people in a large capacity, the enthusiasm to lead, direct, influence and train people; I truly believe in my heart of hearts that Señorita Tanya is ready to teach and should be considered for the position of Zumba Master Instructor.

 Gracias,

 Señor Joe González

I contacted Tanya in November 06 about the possibility of bringing Zumba to the Capital Athletic Club.  We are a large club located in downtown Sacramento with 2300 members.  Tanya was so excited about Zumba I got completely caught up in her enthusiasm and completely forgot about any reservations I previously had about Zumba coming to Capital Athletic Club.  Not only was Tanya willing to go out of her way to start Zumba right away at our club (even though she knew she would be leaving the area in two months) but, she even found us a replacement for herself.  I cannot say enough about Tanya.  She is an awesome instructor that has a way of reaching out to people and making them feel comfortable even if they are stepping out of their comfort zone.  She had the largest classes at Capital Athletic Club.  She is professional, engaging, dedicated and motivating.  She influenced several of our instructors to come to the Certification.  The members loved her and she treated each one like they were the only one.  She leads her classes with great conviction like Zumba is the only way.

Tanya would be an asset as a Zumba Master Trainer.  She worked hard on bringing Zumba to the Sacramento area.  After one club flaked on hosting the certification, she worked side by side with me to have Capital Athletic Club host it.  I observed her first hand working with instructors at the Zumba Certification that was held at our club. She was awesome!  She was very attentive and motivating.  The instructors looked to her as their leader.  She offered them feedback and support.  They looked up to her as an inspiration.  I hope to see Tanya as Zumba Master Trainer very soon.

I became aware of Zumba because of Tanya, having read an article she initiated in the Sacramento Bee that piqued my interest in the fitness phenomenon.  After taking her first class, I could immediately feel Tanya’s love for Zumba.  I expressed my interest in becoming a certified instructor and she was extremely supportive, offering advice and following up with emails encouraging me to press forward.

I have been a dance instructor for over ten years and am well acquainted with dance and fitness studios and instructors who teach a variety of different styles.  I can say that Tanya’s enthusiasm and encouraging nature truly set her apart from others.  She clearly has a desire to promote Zumba for the sake of promoting health and fitness, as opposed to any desire to promote herself.  I appreciate that about Tanya, as do, I believe, the vast number of students and instructors she has helped to achieve their Zumba goals.

Without Tanya, there’s no telling how long it would have taken for Zumba to explode here in Sacramento.  The majority of aspiring instructors who attended the recent Zumba certification here this month were there because of Tanya.  In fact, the certification would not have come to Sacramento if it were not for Tanya’s persistence.

Tanya undoubtedly possesses a great ability to lead and inspire others, and I believe she will make an outstanding Zumba trainer.

Hello Tanya,

So today at Cal-Fit I had 42 people in my class - I am still excited!  I never ever wanted to take speech class in college and I avoid my home parties with my private home business, fear of getting up in front of a crowd I guess.  But to get up and teach is exhilarating and I can't explain the happiness I feel doing it! Ahhh... I am so glad I got Zumba certified... I am a new person. You are awesome... It is because of you and how you teach your class that I am a success.  Keep up the great work as you inspire others.

Goodnight...

Tanya introduced Zumba to The Capital Athletic Club a few months ago and it is the one class that I, and many others do not miss.  Tanya's passion, enthusiasm and energy is infectious, because I see that the class was always full while she was still here.  Although we don't move as slick and sexy as she does, Tanya makes us believe that we can move just as well as she can.  We missed Tanya at the Club and were glad to see her come back from Florida to teach a session yesterday... the room had never been that full!!!

She has brought on Sheree as her replacement since she left for Florida.  Sheree has continued Tanya's enthusiasm and energy and I always have such a good time during Zumba.  People usually don't smile while they workout, but in our Zumba class, everyone has a smile on their face.  We don't just get a great workout, but we enjoy every minute of it.

I hope that Tanya becomes a Master Trainer, because that would mean that there would be a better chance to have more Zumba classes, with fantastic instructors like Sheree.  It would not only be a benefit to Zumba to have Tanya as a Master Trainer, but a greater benefit to Sacramento.  Zumba would grow faster than ever in Sacramento with Tanya at the helm!!!!

Tanya,

I love your Zumba classes!  I started on my weight loss journey with friends and was really only doing it to support them.  Eating better has certainly helped but your classes are keeping me going!  I have always been overweight and never in shape before.  When I started at the gym, it was work.  Now, it is fun!  I never thought I would say that.  I actually look forward to going to Zumba!  You are so energetic, upbeat, and inspiring that I was addicted by the end of the first class.  I started out taking 2 classes a week with you in August and I am now enjoying 7 to 8 classes a week.  It is the only exercise that I have ever enjoyed!  I have lost many inches as well as over 50 pounds so far.  I have so much energy and feel better, physically and emotionally, than I ever have.  I now believe that I can truly reach my weight loss goals! Thank you for teaching Zumba!

Tanya-

I've only been to your Zumba class 3 times but I'm hooked.  Much like Kim Anderson (who I think I went to high school with coincidentally), going to the gym isn't at the top of my priority list these days.  With 2 little girls and working part time, my days are crammed full.  I used to LOVE to work out before I had kids but somehow it just never seems convenient anymore.  My husband and I even cancelled our old gym membership at CalFit about 3 years ago because we never used it anymore.

My cousin told me about your class (she's been going for a while) as soon as I joined Hilltop a few weeks ago.  She couldn't come with me the first time I came to the class.  As soon as it started I thought, "Oh no what did I get myself into and how do I leave without looking rude?" but within 2 songs I was having a great time!  My cousin knows me well and she was right to send me because I love it.

I have been doing some kind of dance nearly my whole life and it has always been my favorite way to stay fit.  From the time I was 3 until I was 14, I did ballet and tap.  Then by the end of high school I got into country dancing.  I was on a line dance team and competed all over the west coast for about 5 years.  I won lots of awards and I taught lessons at a local country dance club.  I danced nearly every night of the week.  I was a fit and trim size 0!

But as I graduated college and moved into my career and eventually got married, I no longer wanted to hang out in bars although I missed dancing terribly.  Where else does someone go to dance but night clubs?

Your class is giving me a chance to dance again!  Salsa and hip hop is certainly out of my area of knowledge and even my comfort-zone to an extent but I just love to move and it feels good to get my heart going again!  And my hubby sees how good it makes me feel so he is helping me set up our days so I can make it to class.

I just wanted to say thanks for bringing Zumba to EG and being so passionate about it.  You are really a fun person to learn from and your energy is contagious.  This is the first time in years that I have found something that I want to do more than I care about the fitness aspect of it!  That is just a huge perk!  (But I am looking forward to my pre-pregnancy clothes!!!)  I'm glad to see the new schedule with so many chances to get to class each week.

See you in the morning!!!  :)

I have been a faithful Zumba class participant for the last 10 weeks, going 3 days a week, sometimes 4.  I love it!  I used to be the one to say ”I have to go to the gym” or “I need to go to the gym”.  It was something I knew I had to do to stay fit but I was definitely not always excited or motivated to be there.  Then I tried your Zumba class and I was addicted.  I can actually say that I am excited and motivated to exercise now.  I have even set my alarm on a Saturday morning to get up for this class.  I enjoy the music, the dance moves, and your energy as an instructor that keeps people coming back for more.  I can definitely see a happier more energetic me.  Plus, I have also lost several inches all over and 2 inches around my thighs, woo hoo!  I am also down almost 10 pounds.

Thanks for keeping the class fun - I look forward to more Zumba!

Tanya,

I wanted to thank you very much for inviting me to your "Zumba" class on 10-25-06.  I was so impressed watching all the women in the class enjoying themselves.  When I read the article in the Sacramento Bee, I knew this was for me.  I was so ecstatic explaining to my co-workers the fun I had doing the moves and watching you at the same time. Your outstanding personality and kindness, motivation and energy you have, makes you the successful instructor that you are.

I look forward of becoming a "Zumba" instructor.
